NOTE: This is a second reposting of this week's Visual Dare, after my website had a weird glitch this
morning involving browser caches, angry internet fairies, and operator error (namely, Me).
If you posted your entry in the comments, then it somehow got lost in the translation. So PLEASE post it again. (Recommendation: if those of you without blogs post your entries to Sweet Banana Ink, your entry stays put, no matter what technology problems happen here!)
Use this photo in one of two ways:
* incorporate it into your current Work In Progress - literally, or figuratively
* use it as a 100 word flash fiction to get the brain going in a different creative direction.
Post your flash fiction, using the link tool below!
(Those who don't have a blog may post their work via Sweet Banana Ink.)
Happy writing!
The illicitness of an affair elicits subterfuge: Espionage of the Heart. A chance meeting with The Nameless One and I was hooked. No matter that he was, as my mother would say, unsuitable (that word carrying luggage: a wife, a prominent position in the government, all manner of things to avoid).
ReplyDeleteWe found a love-nest away from prying eyes. A tiny place but perfect for our trysts. I suggested he use a less obvious car. Nobody noticed us. Until the day of the Olympic marathon. The elderly van was trapped in a road closure and the web of our deceit.
AH! Thank you for reposting this! I am so very sorry that my earlier glitch meant you had to post this twice. This is a lovely piece, with a subtle defiance woven gently throughout, until the very end. Would love to know how the Olympic marathon blew this couple's cover!
DeleteJob well done - thanks for sharing!!
I added my link but it won't go live until tomorrow (when I will be traveling). Hope I got the link right...it's my FIRST EVER Visual Dare!
ReplyDeleteYAY so excited!! Looking forward to it!!
DeleteSorry, had my days messed up...it's now published. Phew...just in case the linky is wrong: http://donnamcnicol.blogspot.com/2012/07/visual-dare-parked-outside.html
ReplyDeleteThe link still takes us to a blank page, but the URL you put in the comment just above works fine. (Ah, the joys of trying to post when you're on the road!) Just left you a comment on your blog!
DeleteThis is my first try and the word count came a bit more than 100. Hope that's fine?
ReplyDeleteIf it's over 100 words it's not by much!! Great job! Welcome to the Visual Dare world --- hope to see more from you in future prompts!!
