VisDare 31: Focused

There was a time when I would have thought the following photo to be too plain, too ordinary, too predictable to use.

And then I became a seasoned VisDare veteran. I read (and still read, even if I don't have a chance to comment) VisDare entries week after week after week.

Almost two years of continuous VisDare reading has taught me this: You people can spin gold out of ANY kind of photographic straw.

And this one ain't straw, y'all.

VisDare 30: Basking

WELL. VisDare went up a bit late this time - first in a year and a half that that's happened. Sorry, folks.

Life is a whirlwind right now (isn't it always?) with a couple life changes on the horizon (most of them very good), so right now my computer time is limited. What computer time I DO have is spent on maintaining my employment (because, you know, work and bills won't solve themselves) and my own manuscript, which won't write itself either; plus I have personal reasons for needing to finish it before late September.

ANYWAY. All that to say is ---- it takes a certain level of crazy for me to be late in posting the VisDare. Won't say it will never happen again (never say never, and all that jazz), but it's a rare thing because I believe in what you guys are doing here: amazing work - in 150 words or less. That sort of tenacity and creativity should be honored with new opportunities to further your greatness. :-)

And WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW PEOPLE. I have not had the opportunity to add everyone to my Twitter list, etc yet but there are several of you and I SEE YOU. And your very presence here makes me happy. The VisDare Family is a great place and I love, love, love it when I see new writers pop up on the radar.

VisDare 29: Pensive

Summer is blistering by me, and life is so full right now that my internet time is heavily constricted.

But you know what? My VisDare regulars keep me coming back. Because you folk are totally worth it.

Below is a photo that I think I should aspire to ~ sitting in a corner and losing myself in thoughts and ideas, maybe with a cup of hot tea to one side and the silence pressing around me. Wouldn't that be nice?

Reminder (because a couple people have asked): It is NOT required in the VisDare challenge to use or reference the word in the tag (i.e. "pensive"). So if the photo takes you in a different vein - run with it. The prompt is, and always has been, the photo; the word is there for (a) labeling purposes and (b) to help in way of a creative springboard to get started. But don't feel like you have to use it - because you don't.
